A professional DTP studio with twenty years of experience cooperating with editorial offices, publishers, and companies in Poland and abroad. We typeset texts that demand precision.
Publication typesetting is more than transferring text into a graphics program. It is a craft requiring typographic knowledge, familiarity with editorial rules, and the ability to work with material of varying complexity, from simple literary prose to multi-level tables, mathematical formulas, and extensive footnote apparatuses. We carry out publication typesetting that others find difficult.
We typeset monographs, textbooks, industry publications, albums, and literature. Each type of publication requires a different approach to page makeup: we control widows, orphans, hyphenation, and interword spacing so that the text column is optically even from the first to the last page.
We cooperate with editorial offices on the ongoing typesetting of subsequent issues, both based on our layouts and those provided by the client. We know the specifics of editorial work: short deadlines, last-minute changes, materials arriving in stages. We are able to maintain typesetting quality in this environment.
Technical editing is the stage where the text takes its final typographic shape. We unify styles, correct page makeup, and verify the consistency of formatting. Finally, we perform a preflight and generate PDF/X files in accordance with the printer's specification, with embedded fonts, correct bleeds, and color conversion.
Where repetitiveness threatens to cause errors, automation steps in. We create ExtendScript and UXP scripts that speed up formatting, numbering, generating layout variants, and processing tabular data. As a result, typesetting large publications is faster, and the risk of inconsistency is minimal.
Professional publication typesetting does not end with "dropping the text into InDesign." It begins with an analysis of the material: we assess the structure of the text, types of graphic elements, the complexity of tables and footnotes, and the publisher's requirements regarding volume and format. Only on this basis do we select the typesetting parameters: the text column, leading, size and typeface, and the system of paragraph and character styles.
The difference between amateur and professional typesetting reveals itself in the details. Correct hyphenation in accordance with language rules, conjunctions not separated from the next word, no hanging lines at the beginning and end of a column, even justification without "holes" in the lines – this is the result of combining advanced software tools with the experience of an operator who knows when to trust the algorithm and when to correct the result manually.
The experience gained from cooperating with foreign editorial offices allows us to typeset publications in many European languages, taking into account different typographic conventions, from French guillemets through German low quotation marks to English hyphenation rules. We have worked with texts in languages using the extended Latin script, Cyrillic, and the Greek alphabet.
We also typeset materials with a high degree of technical complexity: legal documentation with an extensive cross-reference apparatus, medical and pharmaceutical publications, product catalogs with thousands of items, and financial reports with multi-page tables of numerical data.
A significant part of our commissions are permanent collaborations: we typeset subsequent issues of magazines, new volumes of publishing series, annual reports, and catalogs updated every season. With these types of projects, repeatability of quality and knowledge of the title's specifics are crucial. Developed processes, style libraries, and InDesign templates allow us to carry out typesetting efficiently, without the need to "relearn" the publication with each new assignment.
We serve publishers and editorial offices from all over Poland, as well as foreign clients, including from Germany, the UK, and the United States. Remote communication, proven tools for file exchange, and online proofing mean that geographical distance does not affect the pace or quality of execution.
We design publication layouts for a wide range of editorial formats, primarily for trade and industry magazines. Our portfolio includes over twenty published titles, each prepared with meticulous attention to the specifics of its subject matter.
We create beautifully typeset books that are a pleasure to read. We specialize in the design and layout of complex academic, legal, and industry publications containing tables, charts, diagrams, and mathematical formulas.
Our team includes experienced editors and meticulous proofreaders — the most attentive readers a text can have. Their linguistic sensitivity and exceptional thoroughness ensure every publication receives the highest standard of editorial care.
We create engaging reports that influence business decisions: from concise one-pagers to comprehensive analyses. We select the appropriate format for the specific content and audience needs. We combine solid research methodology with clear visual presentation.
We typeset doctoral dissertations, habilitation monographs, and academic books for publication. We perform technical editing: from unifying structure and footnotes to typesetting tables, charts, and mathematical formulas, in accordance with publisher and university requirements.
We know which questions to ask to arrive at distinctive and functional typographic solutions — for large corporations and small businesses alike, wherever the right typeface choice makes a measurable difference.
We support developers, especially front-end developers. We design and program responsive and interactive website typography along with accessibility principles. We create HTML, CSS, and JavaScript code compliant with specifications.
Using tools for content analysis, complex text pattern matching, and conditional transformation of styles and formats, we build systems that streamline the publication layout process and reduce both effort and turnaround time.
We provide Adobe Creative Cloud training for companies and institutions, combined with typography and design principles. We also conduct UX audits and expert usability analyses of online products and printed publications.
Graphic design is designing the layout: format, typographic grid, typefaces, and page templates. Typesetting (DTP) is the execution: placing specific text and graphics in a ready layout, page makeup, formatting, and preparing the file for print. We often carry out both stages, but we also offer typesetting alone based on a provided layout.
We work in Adobe InDesign, the industry standard for professional DTP. Depending on the needs, we also use Adobe Illustrator (vector graphics), Photoshop (photo processing), and tools for typesetting mathematical formulas. Source files are delivered in INDD or IDML format.
The time depends on the volume and complexity of the material. Typesetting a magazine issue (80–120 pages) usually takes 5–10 business days. A book of 200–300 pages: from two to four weeks. With regular cooperation, deadlines are shorter thanks to established processes.
Yes, we often work with layouts provided by the client or designed by an external studio. Before starting typesetting, we verify the quality of the layout and report any technical remarks to avoid problems at the printing stage.
We prefer text in Word (.docx) or RTF format, and graphics in TIFF, PSD, AI, or EPS (min. 300 dpi for print). We also accept InDesign files if the typesetting requires continuing or correcting existing material. We send a detailed specification before starting work.
Yes, production preparation (prepress) is an integral part of our service. We perform preflight, color conversion to CMYK, font embedding, bleed control, and generation of PDF/X files in accordance with the printer's technical specification.
